Hello Reader,

Mercury Turns Direct: Insights and Chaos

Mercury has been retrograding since July 18. Today, it stations and turns direct. The second retrograde season of the year is over—did you gather any insights? I’ve been flooded with them: a new fall Cycles class (more on that when the Sun enters Virgo and I can tap its organizing energy), physics courses at work, and plenty of ideas with no particular home. The result? Chaos in my head.

The Transition Period: Don’t Rush It

We are now entering Mercury’s shadow—the time before it fully settles into direct motion. For the next two weeks, resist the urge to rush; let things unfold and give your ideas space to take shape.

When Seven Horses Pull at Once

For those of you with sensitive spots around 00–02 degrees, how are you doing? I have Mercury-MC at 02 Leo, and it’s been especially chaotic in my head. I feel like a charioteer with seven horses all pulling in different directions—so I stay still frequently throughout the day. That’s often the best approach when you feel overwhelmed.

Peace Bubbles and Backyard Birds

The world itself feels unsettled right now. Fear, anger, and disbelief at what’s going on press against our little peace bubbles, sometimes bursting them altogether. How are you coping? Do you have a favorite and effective tool? Drop me a line.

For me, it helps to spend time barefoot in the backyard, listening to the birds hop around me. They and I have become bosom buddies. Somehow, that calms me and restores perspective. I also practice forgiveness whenever I remember. Not in the usual sense, but in its truest form the way I see it.

The Worldwide Upgrade

We’re in the midst of a global upgrade. With no energy left to sustain the old, it’s naturally falling apart. It may feel unsettling, but it’s not bad news—we’ve long known the old systems couldn’t last. The work now is to keep peace and hold space for what’s coming.

A New Curiosity: Mundane Astrology

Lately, I’ve been exploring a new branch of astrology—mundane astrology. Anyone have experience with that? I’d love to hear your stories.

It feels like a natural next step in watching this worldwide upgrade unfold. My curiosity wants to know how much is left, whether we’re “there” yet, and just how good the new system will be. I’ll let you know when I start getting some answers. :-)

We are all in this together.

Best,
Tatiana

JSJ Self-Help - Main Central

I did the “lazy” Main Central the other day, and it felt great. Lying in bed, I placed my right hand on the mid-sternum and my left on the lower sternum. That was it. My hands didn’t get tired, and I held the position for many minutes, until my awareness drifted beyond my body and floated happily around.

The Main Central works in such interesting ways. It grounds me when I’m too spacey or stressed at work, yet it also helps me float beyond my body when I’m resting at home. It’s truly an art of returning to the middle.

It reminds me of the I Ching Hexagram Modesty (15. Chien):

The Creative acts to empty what is full and to offer abundance to what is modest. – Brian Browne Walker. The I Ching, or Book of Changes

Did you miss my latest episode? In it, I talk about the different levels of existence and how majority of our problems stem from confusing them.

Check it out.

Effortless Reality

Hi, I’m Tatiana—a physicist turned spiritual explorer. In Cycles, I look at how the same laws that shape the physical universe also guide our inner lives—and how we can use them in practical ways every day. Each issue explores cosmic patterns like eclipses and retrogrades through both scientific and metaphysical perspectives, with simple self-help tools from Yoga and Jin Shin Jyutsu to help you live more effortlessly in sync with life’s rhythm.

Hello Reader, I was preparing for tonight’s Cycles Lab on Solar Return Charts—you can still hop in if you feel called—when I was reminded again how the Moon always brings change. She tugs at our moods and comfort zones, and before we know it, something shifts—inside or out. Today, the Moon is in Capricorn, a sign that favors quiet focus over drama. It’s a good day to simplify, get things done, and pause long enough to catch your breath—especially with Mercury Retrograde approaching on Nov 9....

Hello Reader, Why is nobody looking at Solar Returns as part of a longer arc? I’ve never found a book, a class, or even a mention of it. Even my astrological software won’t let me create charts beyond the immediate year. I had to switch to another app and get creative before I could look at my Solar Returns for the past three years. When I asked why on the software’s help site, they said, “Nobody needs it.” Really? I can’t believe I am the only one who uses this easy and powerful way to see...

Full Moon surrounded by clouds.

Hello Reader, Welcome back to Cycles. In just over a day, the Moon will reach fullness and enter Earth’s shadow in a total Lunar Eclipse. You may already feel the shift—last night it rose through the trees, stark in size and color, a vivid reminder that this is a powerful time for release. A Dream Practice Two nights ago, I asked my guides to heal subconscious trauma, guilt, and regrets while I slept. The Full Moon is ideal for release, so I thought: why not ask for the big help? Sure enough,...
