Cycles, Oct. 27: In Times of Change, Stillness Is Essential

Hello Reader,

I was preparing for tonight’s Cycles Lab on Solar Return Chartsyou can still hop in if you feel called—when I was reminded again how the Moon always brings change. She tugs at our moods and comfort zones, and before we know it, something shifts—inside or out.

Today, the Moon is in Capricorn, a sign that favors quiet focus over drama. It’s a good day to simplify, get things done, and pause long enough to catch your breath—especially with Mercury Retrograde approaching on Nov 9.

When emotions run high, I turn to the Main Central Flow from Jin Shin Jyutsu. Just a few minutes of stillness, hands on the body, and everything starts to feel steadier—more doable, less overwhelming. Lately, I’ve been doing a lazy version of it—placing my right hand on the upper chest (middle sternum) and the left on the lower chest area. I recently saw Lee Harris do the same during one of his Initiation classes as a grounding practice.

And speaking of stillness—I just released a new Effortless Reality Podcast episode on how to find it amid everyday chaos. It’s one of my favorites so far. You can listen on Spotify or watch on YouTube.

Best,

Tatiana

Effortless Reality

Hi, I’m Tatiana—a physicist turned spiritual explorer. In Cycles, I look at how the same laws that shape the physical universe also guide our inner lives—and how we can use them in practical ways every day. Each issue explores cosmic patterns like eclipses and retrogrades through both scientific and metaphysical perspectives, with simple self-help tools from Yoga and Jin Shin Jyutsu to help you live more effortlessly in sync with life’s rhythm.

Full Moon surrounded by clouds.

Hello Reader, Welcome back to Cycles. In just over a day, the Moon will reach fullness and enter Earth’s shadow in a total Lunar Eclipse. You may already feel the shift—last night it rose through the trees, stark in size and color, a vivid reminder that this is a powerful time for release. A Dream Practice Two nights ago, I asked my guides to heal subconscious trauma, guilt, and regrets while I slept. The Full Moon is ideal for release, so I thought: why not ask for the big help? Sure enough,...

Bright sun

Hello Reader, My birthday passed just ten days ago, and the vibe of my life has shifted dramatically. You can glimpse the flavor of the year ahead by looking at your Solar Return chart—the snapshot of the sky at the moment the Sun returns to your birth position. I did just that for myself, and here’s what I found. Last year, both my Sun and Moon landed in the twelfth house—the domain of hidden work and behind-the-scenes effort. And indeed, I spent much of my time finding my footing in a new...

Cracks in glass

Hello Reader, Well, Uranus certainly wasted no time making an entrance. Yesterday it crossed into Gemini at 0°, and just two hours earlier I got a call I never expected: a project I proposed last year was suddenly approved and fully funded—seven months after I’d written it off. That’s Uranus energy in action. Sudden, out of the blue, impossible to miss. Of all the slow-moving planets, Uranus is the one you feel most clearly because of its abruptness and surprise. Have you noticed any...
