Hello Reader,
In his book "Astrology for the Millions," Grant Lewi, a one-time Professor of English at Dartmouth and an astrologer extraordinaire, claimed that when the moving Saturn traverses the portion of the sky that corresponds to the lower left quadrant of quadrant of your astrological chart, it is time for work on yourself. There will be no outward rewards or recognition at this time.
On the other hand, if you have been doing your work, day in and day out, the rewards are most likely to appear during the time when Saturn is in the parts of the sky uppermost in your astrological chart.
I know what you are thinking right now - "Where is Saturn now, and in which part of the sky is it for me?" I have my own story about where Saturn was in 2014 for me and how it played out. But this is about you, so I'll save the story for another day. If you are really curious, you can read it here in this sneak peak at my upcoming book "Effortless Reality."
So, where is Saturn now for you? The answer is easy because Saturn is currently in the beginning of Pisces (as of February of 2024). But some of us have Pisces high in the chart and therefore the time would be for recognition and reward. Others - close to the bottom of the chart and the time would be for inner work, business development, and setting plans in place.
Pay attention also whether Saturn is on the left side of your chart and hence traveling downward for the upcoming years. It is time to start thinking of letting go of some of your worldly duties and going inward to build and grow on the inside. Or, if Saturn is on the right side of the chart, then you are on the "rise" literally, and all your efforts are going to be bearing fruit.
This picture comes with one big caveat! If you do not do work, there will be no rewards regardless of Saturn's placement in the sky. You might gain visibility and fame but it will not last and will not bring much satisfaction. After all, if you plant no seeds, and do not water or tend, you cannot expect to any harvest at the end of the summer, can you?
The whole cycle of Saturn takes 29 years. So, every 29 years, Saturn returns to the position where it was during your birth and begins a new cycle. It is your cosmic report card. What lessons have you learned? You graduate, receive your diploma (in the form of some worldly achievement, recognition, or reward) and move on. You are freed of outdated responsibilities and are given a well-deserved vacation before you start plotting and planning for the next cycle.
But if you have not your work - either you have been shirking responsibilities, avoiding work, procrastinating with tasks and life - the report card is not pleasant. It is not that you are punished, but you are bound to repeat the lessons that you avoided the first time. And that of itself is a punishment enough. Nobody likes to repeat a grade.
No matter where you find yourself on the range from the over-achiever to under-achiever, the saving grace for all of us is that the Saturn cycle is about participation and responsibility. Be present, do your best, and let Saturn take care of the rest. You are not asked to save the world. You are not asked to even save yourself. You are asked only to grow!
