Hello Reader,
There are some big shifts unfolding this week, alongside the usual ones.
In the skies for Apr. 20 - Apr. 26
Monday, Apr. 20 – The Moon in Gemini brings quick developments, fast thinking and speaking, and an overall sense of openness, curiosity, and adaptability.
On Tuesday, Apr. 21, the Moon enters Cancer at around 1:00 pm and shifts the overall tone from intellectual to emotional.
Wednesday, Apr. 22 continues in the same fashion set by Tuesday’s Moon. If you find yourself dealing with insecurities or moodiness, or simply feeling tired of the emotional support you are giving to others, a good JSJ self-help flow is the one for Spleen FE.
Thursday, Apr. 23 brings a shift from the sensitivity and moodiness of Cancer to the lighter, more playful mood of Leo. Leo is fire energy, so enthusiasm, creativity, and expression become the natural outlets.
If you have a Venus–Uranus interaction in your natal chart, you may be especially sensitive to their conjunction at the very end of Taurus during Apr. 23–24.
Venus rules Taurus and relates to material comfort, pleasure, and the sense that we deserve to have what we want. Uranus, on the other hand, brings change and new ways of doing things. It is up to you how to blend this energy in the most productive way.
Venus is also about the luxuries in our lives and what we value and attract. So when you wake up on Friday morning and find Venus in Gemini, you may desire more intellectual delights and less of the material focus that Taurus provides.
On Saturday, Apr. 25, around 9 pm (US EDT), the sparks begin again—and this time with a bonus. In a one-two sequence, Uranus changes signs from Taurus to Gemini at 8:51 pm, and shortly after, the Moon shifts from Leo to practical and tidy Virgo at 9:04 pm.
If you thought new technology and the breaking of old structures were happening fast in recent years, wait until you see the pace of Uranus in Gemini. Taurus is steady and resistant to change, and much of the tension, crises, and the “screeching” come from that resistance. Gemini, on the other hand, loves what is new and moves quickly from one thing to the next.
We are in for a faster, more dynamic ride for the next six or seven years. We will need to take care of our nervous systems to keep them from burning out. For that, I suspect many JSJ flows will come in to support us one day at a time. Stay tuned.
No matter how significant the Uranus shift on Saturday is, on a day-to-day level the Moon remains the primary influence on our moods, emotions, and inclinations. With the Moon in Virgo on Saturday and Sunday, expect the overall tone—and the urge—to move toward practicalities, organization, and taking care of life’s necessities.
This weekend is a perfect time for cleaning or decluttering projects. Just do not overdo it, as Virgo is prone to perfectionism.
Steady the system
The activated energies for this week are Gemini (Lung FE), Cancer (Spleen FE), Leo (Heart FE), and Virgo (Small Intestine FE). You can harmonize each of these energies according to the days of the week. The anchor steps of each FE are posted at the Travelers Guide to Healing site.
Or, if you find yourself too tired, too down, or generally fatigued—whether emotionally or physically—you can use the Fatigue Flow self-help.
Unlike the Fatigue Flow from the back of Textbook 1, this self-help version has only one step: place your hands on top of your head and hold for 3–5 minutes. I personally like to hold it for at least 10 or until I can feel the synchronized pulsation in both hands.
Here is a short video demo for those who are not familiar with the fatigue self-help flow.
Go deeper
Uranus may no longer be in Taurus by the end of the week, but it is still Taurus season, courtesy of our main star—the Sun. We have a whole month to take advantage of that light and explore what lies in the Taurus corners of our charts and consequently lives.
For me, Taurus is in the 8th house of transformation, shared resources, and existential truths. So that is where I will be looking to get clarity and better understanding of myself.
In its most general sense, Taurus is the energy of values. What you value, you cherish, preserve, and steward. What you do not value, you discard or let fall away. Taurus is often associated with resources, but as the sign most closely connected with Nature, it also carries an inherent knowing that Nature—or the Universe, or God—provides.
For ACIM students, I recorded a video on Lesson 133 and its connection to Taurus.
Hindsight
Last Wednesday morning, I went to work as usual, only to find myself in a strange and unexpected mood. I looked around and suddenly had zero patience for nonsensical rules.
I sat down and had a talk with myself. I’m not a paper pusher. I can get anything done that I decide to do. No more complaints, no more worrying about others, no more constantly asking for permission.
By the time I came home, I was in a take-no-prisoners mood that lasted well into the evening.
And then I remembered my own advice (which I had promptly forgotten after writing last week’s email 🙂): the Moon was shifting from kind and gentle Pisces to combative and strong Aries.
Hmm. This is the first time I’ve felt that shift from Pisces to Aries so strongly.
At the same time, it was very welcome. Over the last two or three weeks at work, I had been unusually timid, second-guessing myself, and, frankly, a bit whiny. It was starting to wear on me.
It is still Aries season for all of us. The Moon may have moved on, but Neptune, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn remain there. So—confident Self, here I am.
